Asbestos

Annual Asbestos Notification

Under AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act), all primary and secondary schools are required to develop and implement a plan for managing all building materials which contain asbestos. Included in the AHERA Act is the requirement to annually notify all workers and building occupants (or their guardians) of asbestos-related activities.

Beginning in 1988, all buildings owned, leased, or 鈥渦nder the control of鈥 the School 六合彩结果今期 were inspected by EPA accredited inspectors, with building material samples analyzed by an independent laboratory. Based on the inspection, the School 六合彩结果今期 prepared and the state approved a comprehensive management plan for managing the asbestos.

Where the asbestos-containing materials are found, the 六合彩结果今期 has in place an Operations and Maintenance program.

The 六合彩结果今期 has accomplished the following compliance mandates regarding the administration of asbestos in school buildings:

  • Environmental Management Consulting, Inc. (EMC) was contracted to be the school鈥檚 consultant for asbestos for the school year.
  • The 六合彩结果今期 is continuing with the Operations and Maintenance Program as designed for the School 六合彩结果今期. This ensures that all asbestos materials are kept in good condition in good condition.
  • Periodic 鈥渟urveillance鈥 in each area containing asbestos has been completed every six months by our consultant. Also, the buildings are re-inspected by an accredited inspector every three years.
  • In the past year the 六合彩结果今期 conducted the following asbestos removal activities:
    • Window removal projects consisting of the following buildings: Bose Elementary, Hillcrest, Jeffery Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Southport Elementary, Washington Middle, Whittier Elementary and Wilson Elementary.
    • AC projects: Harvey and Roosevelt Elementary
    • HVAC Controls: e-School, Lincoln Middle and Reuther/Harborside
    • Boiler Door Insulation: K-Tec West and Lincoln Middle
    • Floor Mastic: Bradford High

All outside contractors shall contact the lead maintenance person before commencing work. Our goal at the 六合彩结果今期 is to be in full compliance with asbestos regulations.

Career and Technical Education Opportunities

Each year 六合彩结果今期 offers Career & Technical education programs to prepare students for a broad range of high-skill/high-wage employment and training services offered under the guidance of certified teachers, counselors, and Youth Apprenticeship specialists. Career & Technical Education programs are offered in the areas of Business and Information Technology, Family & Consumer Science, Technology & Engineering. Interested students should contact their counselor or refer to the course catalog for prerequisites and admission criteria. All Career & Technical Education programs follow the district鈥檚 policies of nondiscrimination in all activities and employment. A lack of English language skills is not a barrier to admission or participation. Educational Options and Accountability Reports

Class I Notice Pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 115.28 (54m) and Wisconsin 2015 Act 55, each聽public school聽district in Wisconsin must provide notice regarding the availability of educational options and accountability reports to students鈥 families. Protection of Pupil Rights

PPRA affords parents certain rights regarding our conduct of surveys, collection and use of information for marketing purposes, and certain physical exams. These include the right to:

  • Consent before students are required to submit to a survey that concerns one or more of the following protected areas (鈥減rotected information survey鈥) if the聽survey is funded in whole or in part by a program of the U.S. Department of Education (ED)
    • Political affiliations or beliefs of the student or student鈥檚 parent;
    • Mental or psychological problems of the student or student鈥檚 family;
    • Sex behavior or attitudes;
    • Illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating, or demeaning behavior;
    • Critical appraisals of others with whom respondents have close family relationships;
    • Legally recognized privileged relationships, such as with lawyers, doctors, or ministers;
    • Religious practices, affiliations, or beliefs of the student or parents; or
    • Income, other than as required by law to determine program eligibility.
  • Receive notice and an opportunity to opt a student out of 鈥
    • Any other protected information survey, regardless of funding;
    • Any non-emergency, invasive physical exam or screening required as a condition of attendance, administered by the school or its agent, and not necessary to protect the immediate health and safety of a student, except for hearing, vision, or scoliosis screenings, or any physical exam or screening permitted or required under State law; and
    • Activities involving collection, disclosure, or use of personal information obtained from students for marketing or to sell or otherwise distribute the information to others.
  • Inspect, upon request and before administration or use 鈥
    • Protected information surveys of students;
    • Instruments used to collect personal information from students for any of the above marketing, sales, or other distribution purposes; and
    • Instructional material used as part of the educational curriculum.

These rights transfer from the parents to a student who is 18 years old or an emancipated minor under State law.

The 六合彩结果今期 No. 1 (六合彩结果今期) has adopted policies, in consultation with parents, regarding these rights, as well as arrangements to protect student privacy in the administration of protected information surveys and the collection, disclosure, or use of personal information for marketing, sales, or other distribution purposes. 六合彩结果今期 will directly notify parents of these policies at least annually at the start of each school year and after any substantive changes. 六合彩结果今期 will also directly notify, such as through U.S. Mail or email, parents of students who are scheduled to participate in the specific activities or surveys noted below and will provide an opportunity for the parent to opt his or her child out of participation of the specific activity or survey. 六合彩结果今期 will make this notification to parents at the beginning of the school year if the 六合彩结果今期 has identified the specific or approximate dates of the activities or surveys at that time. For surveys and activities scheduled after the school year starts, parents will be provided reasonable notification of the planned activities and surveys listed below and be provided an opportunity to opt their child out of such activities and surveys. Parents will also be provided an opportunity to review any pertinent surveys. Following is a list of the specific activities and surveys covered under this requirement:

  • Collection, disclosure, or use of personal information for marketing, sales or other distribution.
  • Administration of any protected information survey not funded in whole or in part by ED.
  • Any non-emergency, invasive physical examination or screening as described above.
  • Parents who believe their rights have been violated may file a complaint with:
